Hi everyone,
Although it's been a while since my last post, I've been busy meandering through various interests as usual. Recently, I've been taking a course on basic web development. The first section of the course focused on learning the fundamental web technologies: HTML and CSS.
For those who aren't tech-savvy, HTML is the basic text structure of a website, while CSS is the technology used to style it.
While it's all quite basic, the capstone project for completing the CSS section was to code a static website for a hotel. I found this a bit boring, so I decided to create one for a music festival instead. I wanted to share the process and final outcome since I'm pretty happy with it.
I won't write too much about it here, but the basic idea was a chill, indie music festival overlooking the beautiful Howe Sound. Below, you'll find my mood board, colour palette, and the website design, which I created using Affinity Designer 2. I've also included a festival poster and some wristband mockups.
If you want to skip all that, you can just go to the website using the link below. I coded the whole thing from scratch and I'm satisfied with how it turned out.
Hope you like it!
Note: the website looks a lot better on desktop than mobile devices. I’m yet to make all the changes needed to allow for better responsiveness on mobile.

Overall, this was a really fun project and I'm excited to see where the next part of the course, Javascript, takes me.
